Jana Novotna, ITEC Dip., MICHT
My interest in massage therapies has developed through the various journeys in my life so far – primarily in terms of the connections between body and mind.
Through our mother working as physical education teacher, my brother and myself became very involved in sports and aware of the physical body from an early age. While I went on to become a very competitive swimmer, my brother went on to university and qualified as a professional fitness trainer and sports therapist.
After 3 years of my own working as an accountant I started to get a real understanding of stress and tension in the workplace.
Moving to London in 2001 I decided to study and later qualified as a holistic massage therapist. By this point I was already receiving very positive feedback, so wanting to expand my skills I embarked on further training in deep tissue and more advanced techniques. It was at this time that I started work for a well known London spa where I gained day to day experience with new therapies and clients.
Always hungry for something new, I have since studied and become qualified in manual lymphatic drainage, hot stone therapy, Hawaiian (lomi lomi) massage, SCENAR Therapy and Thai Yoga massage.
I am at present practising from a private room in the lovely Gentle Movement Clinic where I base all my treatments on the specific needs of the individual client.
I am registered and insured member of FHT (Federation of Holistic Therapists) www.fht.org.uk
I am fully qualified and experienced in the following:
