Scar Therapy
Scar Therapy is a method of non-invasive physical therapy developed to treat scar tissue, fibrosis and adhesions after surgery or injury using specialist scar massage and fascial release techniques, and therapy tools.
Scar therapy has been developed to:
-
stimulate changes in scars, both on the skin surface and any adhesions or fibrosis in the underlying tissue
-
promote healthy scar tissue formation to enhance functional and cosmetic results after surgery
-
reduce common symptoms, such as pain and sensitivity or reduced mobility

If you have recently had a surgery or injury we can treat your scar to help stimulate healing and soften fibrosis as the scar matures. Scar therapy can even be beneficial for older scars. The body is constantly renewing cells so your old scar can still improve when given the right stimulation.

Scar Treatment Therapy is designed to address scars after the scabs have healed and there are no signs of infection or leakage. Typically, treatment 6-8 weeks post-surgery or injury, depending on the scar severity. However, with techniques like Deep Oscillation Therapy or Manual Lymphatic Drainage, treatment can start immediately for faster results. Our goal is to help you achieve smoother, healthier skin efficiently and effectively.

Immature scars (up to 6 months) - short session / more frequent
Mature scars (over 12/18mnths) - longer session / less frequent
Deep oscillation therapy and cupping therapy can form part of the session. In case of lymphoedema present, manual lymphatic dainage can be also included to promote faster healing and movement of the fluid away from the area
